O2 the cloud wifi

It then took me to the next page where I had to enter my password again! The next page, then asked me to enter my mobile number - by which time, I really couldn't be bothered to go thorugh the whole process, all over again, so gave up and didn't bother. I assume, ther page which asked for the mobile number, if I had entered it, I would have then been sent a link.

I would then have had to click on the link, and then re-sign back into the service. Far too overly complicated If 'The Cloud' is free - why the need to register and sign it, and then having to re-register AGAIN, on a new phone, which has the same phone number?!?!?!? It takes a maximum of 1 minute to re-register for "The Cloud". Enter your name, email address and phone number You have to do it once with your new phone, and then if you keep that phone wont have to do it for another 2 years?

Hardly an inconvenience is it? I use the Cloud ones and downloaded the app so they connect instantly without the need to log in everytime, works good so far. This website uses cookies. DinoF Level Nimble. O2's 'The Cloud' wifi is a total shambles! I ended up just using my 4G connection whcih was probably faster than 'The Cloud' O2 Community Devices Other Devices the cloud. Anonymous Not applicable. I have found out today that my phone only works in the Mcdonalds cloud wifi area and not all Cloud wifi hotspots.

On speaking with customer services and technical support at O2 they tell me that the service for the cloud is not included and never has been. Does this sound correct? Certainly their webiste is misleading free data and unlimited wifi. I was told that the free unlimited wifi actually refers to using wifi at home or anywhere you can log on for free but not the cloud or BT Openzone, very misleading i think if that is the case. So in summary according to O2 today the only wifi i can get on my phone is at my own home, does not include any data service from O2, like you get with the iphone.

Message 1 of All forum topics Previous Topic Next Topic. Wi-fi hotspots are included if you have an unlimited wi-fi tariff. Check here for the one you're trying to connect to.

Not every hotspot is free and some are run by other companies and chargeable. Message 2 of It seems like something is amiss to me, i purchased my phone grom dial a phone they show on their website free unlimited wifi, and when you click it refers to the cloud. O2 technical services are insisting that Blackberry owners on O2 do not get free access to The cloud or bt openzone, the tarrif or bolt on does not exist. So it looks like i just have blackberry email and data via o2 mobile network not the wifi, other than the wifi i have at home from my router that works great!

How on earth they can advertise a phone with free unlimited wifi and then tell you that just means that the phone works on wifi but we give you no access on any network is beyond me, but thats what i am being told!!

Message 3 of I'm not sure I know what you are trying to say as your posts are very hard to read without paragraphs but: I have the bolt on for unlimited internet which also includes wifi, which as you say is part of the phones capability. Regarding the wifi yes you can connect to the cloud at McDonalds because that is free. Many other cloud services for example at a train station are pay services, I don't know why you expect to be able to connect to those with your blackberry, after all, you wouldn't be able to connect to them free using a laptop either.

If I go into my local costa coffee, which has free, unsecured wifi network my BB logs onto it. But obviously it's not going to log onto my next door neighbours home network if I pop round for a beer.
