Microsoft money 2002 to quicken

Do I have to purchase a newer version for this To ensure consistent data conversion, the new Money Converter requires Microsoft Money or to be installed, and will allow conversions of files from those version only. For those of you running previous versions of Money, I believe there's a plan to allow you to download a free trial version of Money so you can convert your older Money file s to Money , and then import to Quicken.

Thank you. Do not change your Microsoft password. Merging data from Money and Quicken: Quicken is not able to merge data from a Money file into a Quicken file. It can only create a new Quicken file and then import your Microsoft Money data into it. Review your account and payee names to ensure they converted properly. Because of the slight differences between the two programs in maximum character length and permitted characters, you may need to change the names of some of your payees or accounts.
Any instructions you had in Money may need to be reset in Quicken. You can also set up Quicken Bill Manager. For more information, click here. Set your recurring payments. I don't know if this makes any difference, but I'm actually running Money Plus Deluxe Trial version The Money file I opened in this Money version was from Money It opened fine using the password I've always used for it. I'm running Quicken Deluxe Release R8 Quicken and Money are installed on the same pc.
I open Money and enter the password, and it opens fine in this version. I close Money and open Quicken. I try to import the Money file into a new Quicken file. This is when I get the pop up window that asks me for the Money File password. I enter the same password I just entered before. The response is incorrect password try again, just like the guy above. I try to remove the password and it won't let me.
It wouldn't let me in Money either. So I reset the passord. I opened Money again, but when I entered the new password it said that the new password was incorrect.
So I entered the old password and it opened right up. I then closed Money and tried to import the Money file into Quicken using the new password I just created, and got the same incorrect password message I've been getting.
So I'm not even sure what password got changed at this point. This is really frustrating. Do you have any idea what could be happening or what I could try next? Tuesday, March 22, AM. I just performed a Repair Standard Level 2 on my money file and renamed it. It asked me for the file's password. I entered the one that I have been using forever. It worked and the repair ran. I viewed the log and it said there were no problems with the file.
So I closed Money and opened Quicken to try again using the newly repaired and renamed file.
